Clam Bake: The Culver City restaurant Rush Street is paying tribute to an East Coast tradition by serving up a summer clambake every Friday and Saturday evening until Labor Day weekend. Moon over Mar’sel: To celebrate the coming of the full moon, executive chef Michael Fiorelli of Mar’sel restaurant at Terranea Resort has created a tasting menu for the occasion. The menu will be offered Friday and Saturday for $65 per person with optional wine pairings for an additional $35. Some menu items include local rocket salad and grilled wild-caught moonfish. SusieCakes’ B-day bash: SusieCakes bakery is celebrating its fifth birthday by throwing a retro-themed beach party on Saturday, Aug. 13 from noon to 3 p.m. Beginning at noon, the first 50 customers will receive a free box of six mini red velvet cupcakes with purchase. There will also be kid-friendly activities including a coloring contest. Five percent of all proceeds will go to a local charity near each SusieCakes location. In addition to the party, customers can submit their favorite five-ingredient dessert on SusieCakes’ Facebook page by Aug. 31.
