There are a couple of hometown favorites for Southern Californians in this fall’s season of “Top Chef: Just Desserts,” which premiers Aug. 24. Sally Camacho, pastry chef at WP24 downtown, is one contestant, and another is Carlos Enriquez, who was born in Los Angeles but now works in Las Vegas.

Camacho is a graduate of California Culinary Academy and is no stranger to cooking competitions. In 2007, she was part of the first all-female team at the National Pastry Team Championship. Her group took a silver and won the best sportsmanship award. She represented the U.S. at the Culinary Olympics in 2008, and in 2011 won the Valrhona C3 competition.

Enriquez, a father of six, has worked at several great hotels, including the Brown Palace in Denver, the Alex in Las Vegas, and the Ahwahnee in Yosemite.
