New LAX restaurants almost worth the security lines
Is LAX turning into the next hot dining neighborhood? In addition to the landmark Encounter restaurant that has always been there, there's been talk of adding such well-known favorites as Campanile, Pink's Hot Dogs, Homegirl Cafe, La Brea Bakery and even a fried chicken stand from pop-up king Ludo Lefebvre.
Now comes a whole set of Farmers Market favorites at Terminal 5: Mr. Marcel, Magee's House of Nuts (wonder if they'll keep the peanut butter machine?), T&Y Bakery, Bennett's Ice Cream, Three Dog Bakery and, wonder of wonders, Loteria Grill.
The newest additions, which will need approval by Los Angeles City Council, are supposed to be open by the end of 2012.

Praise ye gods! I've always hated flying Delta partly because terminal 5 is such a food (& coffee) wasteland. Sure would be nice to have a Loteria there. (But seriously, are there really that many dogs flying these days that they need a 3 Dog Bakery?)
And I'm with ya djcionemarco: Tom Bradley terminal blows. This is how LAX wants people to embark on an international flight... hungry and/or pissed off?

Doesn't opening in 1997 constitute sufficient time to substantiate the statement " always having been there" Joe? Gee whiz.....

Your statement regarding the Encounter Restaurant at LAX is incorrect. The Encounter Restaurant has not "always been there". Disney Imagineering assisted in redesigning the Theme Building Restaurant that was previously there. The Encounter Restaurant and Bar opened in 1997.
