Are you ready for the Battle of the Burgers? [UPDATED]
Think you’ve got the best burger around? Do friends and family flock to your backyard every summer just to bask in its glory? Do your neighbors gather at the fence just for a whiff of the grill smoke? Then you’re probably ready for the Los Angeles Times Battle of the Burgers.
Here’s how it works: Go to our Facebook page and submit your hamburger recipe, along with a short essay on what makes this the baddest burger of all. A photograph will probably help, you know how voters like pretty things.
We’ll take the top vote-getters and try them out in the Test Kitchen. The best burger bosses will get an invite to the Test Kitchen to have their picture taken with their little pride-and-joys, and we’ll run it with the recipes in the Food section June 30, the Thursday before Fourth of July.

Does anyone know where the burger is from in the photo? Another post referenced the "Stone Bistro", but I cannot find such a place. Any thoughts out there? Thanks. And if you want a great burger that looks like the one in the photo - Upper West in Santa Monica. Delicious.

Nice shot of a buffalo burger from Stone Bistro. Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I recognized that burger, LOL. I'm guessing the beer is a Levitation.

Azmi (and others who might be thinking along the same lines) ... the contest is for the best burger RECIPE, not the best burger someone else makes. Teach the man to fish, don't give him a fish. Or something like that.

I would like to nominate THE FAMOUS ONE POUND STUFFED BURGER (ROASTED RED PEPPERS & GRIDDLED SMOKED MOZZARELLA) from Hash House @ The Harrah's Casino in Reno Nevada. It's two patties with stuffing in between on a fresh bun with lettuce, tomato and red onion. The whole burger is huge which is the size of a person's face.
