Photo of the day: Homemade pop tarts from Donald S. Wilson of Feeding Andrew

Pop-tarts
By day, Donald S. Wilson is principal of Wonderland Avenue Elementary in Laurel Canyon. But most nights find him in the kitchen cooking for his son, Andrew. (You can follow his adventures at the blog Feeding Andrew.)

Donald took the L.A. Times Test Kitchen's recipe for homemade Pop Tarts for a spin, and shared the results with us. We liked this photo so much we published it in all its golden, flaky glory on E2 of Thursday's Food section. Thanks for allowing us to do that, Donald.

If you try any of the recipes from the L.A. Times Test Kitchen, we'd like to hear about it. And please share a photo -- upload it here. We like to showcase these photos on the blog, and occasionally in print.
