Tote yer own: Beginning Friday -- Earth Day -- M Café kicks off an ongoing promotion: Bring in your own tote bag for take-out orders at their locations on Melrose and in Beverly Hills and get a discount on orders over $10 at the macrobiotic restaurant, and receive a free cup of coffee with a reusable mug.

Do good, eat good: In celebration of Earth Day, Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop is highlighting a menu using locally grown ingredients and sustainably raised meats, including a $9.95 chicken-and-homemade-pesto pizza special. (Check their website for menu specials at their Beverly Hills and Culver City locations.) Dine-in or delivery is available via bicycle (so green!) and, through Saturday, diners will receive a discount when they reuse a Greenleaf take-out bag, with proceeds donated to Million Trees LA.

Farm Sanctuary gala: Would you like to spend Saturday night hanging out in the Hollywood Hills with Bob Harper of ‘The Biggest Loser’? You can. He’s helping to host a Hollywood Hills soiree to launch Farm Sanctuary’s 25th anniversary gala to be held May 14 in New York and Sept. 24 in Los Angeles. Also slated to be in attendance: former L.A. Laker John Salley, Moby and actress Jennifer Coolidge. Farm Sanctuary lobbies on behalf of the humane treatment of farm animals. Details here about the Saturday night launch party, as well as the upcoming galas. (I wonder if Bob will put everyone through cardio circuits to burn off all their eats and drinks before the night is over.)

Earth Day Roast: Ammo is joining with Chef’s Collaborative to commemorate Earth Day with an Earth Day Roast on Sunday. Executive chef Dan Mattern and pastry chef Roxana Jullapat will be whipping up a tasty three-course repast with a portion of the proceeds donated to Chef’s Collaborative, with Organic Valley matching Ammo’s contribution. The menu includes Fat Delta asparagus roasted in the wood-burning oven with a poached farm egg and black olive breadcrumbs, wild Alaskan king salmon or spring lamb, and strawberry Baked Alaska for dessert. Reservations required. 1155 N. Highland Ave., Los Angeles; (323) 467-3293, www.ammocafe.com.
