The inside scoop on food in Los Angeles

What are you drinking this weekend?

May we suggest this 2009 Chateau Graville-Lacoste Graves? It's our wine pick for the week, and Times restaurant review S. Irene Virbila says:

"It would be great with a seafood platter too, or a whole steamed red snapper, shrimp 'n' grits or crab cakes."

Even better: It's priced $14-$19 a bottle.

Wine not your thing? How about some Victory Brewing Helios?

It's appreciably malty (though lager-gold in color) and also a bit hoppy, but creamy carbonation takes on part of the work of balancing the malty sweetness.

It's about $6 for a 22-ounce bottle.
