Faced with choosing between two similarly priced bottles of wine, would you be more likely to choose the one that says ‘organic’ on the label? I would. And I would do it because ... um ... doesn’t that support organic farming?

Well, think again.

Check out this week’s Food section story by W. Blake Gray, ‘Why isn’t more wine ‘organic’?’ He says that reaching for the bottle labeled ‘organic’ might actually undermine organic farming, rather than support it.
