Spork Foods brings vegan fare to the online masses

SporkFoods
Four years ago upbeat sisters Heather and Jenny Goldberg founded Spork Foods, a vegan food company that offers cooking classes and revamps pantries with organic and vegan food options. Over time their classes have grown in popularity and they have gained a name for themselves, eventually becoming the resident chefs for Vitasoy products and being hired by companies like Kaiser Permanente, which asked them to kick-start its "Biggest Loser" contest. They were also featured as a "Dynamic Duo" in a recent issue of VegNews magazine.

As their influence grew they began looking for ways to spread the vegan gospel outside of Los Angeles, and, with the help of an independent film collective called Open Road Films, hit on the idea of making a monthly online cooking show.

I recently joined the women in the Spork Foods kitchen while they filmed a special holiday episode and wrote all about the experience -- and the Goldberg sisters -- for Thursday's Food section. Read more, here.

I love it.Its so hard being a Vegan. That could be the reason i opted for just straight vegetarian..lol.Sorry but it is hard on the pocketbook a little.I look forward to seeing anything they have to put out. It's about time someone looked afterthe 25% of us that dont eat meat. Thanks again for this article!

I can't wait to see the show! Are there any specific vegan margarine's, or oils you prefer? What about Chocolate? Also, lately I've been trying to limit my vegan choices to those which would be approved by Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr. as you can see on my really poor attempt at a blog. Do you have any recipies that don't require cooking oil?
Thanks,
Seth
