12 baking days 'til Christmas ...

Yes, Christmas is just around the corner. But you've still got time to bake some holiday sweets. Your recipe for the day has the politically correct title of Gingerbread people. But what we really love about this recipe from the L.A. Times Test Kitchen is that the dough must chill for at least two hours -- and up to one week. That means that if you plan accordingly, you can have freshly baked gingerbread through the holiday.
