L.A. Times Holiday Cookie Bake-Off: Round 1 results

 
The results are in: Over 79,000 votes were cast online in the first-ever L.A. Times Holiday Cookie Bake-Off. In all, we had 353 submissions. You'll find the top 50 vote-getters listed below, in alphabetical order. (Note that some people submitted more than one cookie recipe.)

So, what's next?

This Saturday, the top 50 cookies will be tested and judged by The Times' Food staff and chefs from the Cordon Bleu cooking school. (It's a tough job, eh?) Revisit the Food blog this weekend -- www.latimes.com/dailydish -- for a behind-the-scenes look at the process, and photos. If you're lucky, maybe you'll catch a glimpse of your cookies. The Top 10 cookies as judged on Saturday will then go through another round of testing by The Times' Test Kitchen before showing up in the newspaper.

The top 10 winners will by contacted by Nov. 25 and invited to visit the Test Kitchen on Dec. 4 for photos and a tour. On Dec. 15, the top 10 recipes will be posted online at www.latimes.com/food. On Dec. 16, the Food section will feature these top 10 recipes.

Would have liked to see the number of votes each received.

In my Essay about the Silver Bells I wrote that the original recipe was lost in the archives...since that was posted it has been found . The recipe for Silver Bells was from The Toledo Blade.
