Tomato time in Hollywood

The Hollywood Farmers Market is hosting its annual ‘Peak of Season’ tomato festival Sunday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Besides tasting lots of tomatoes, you can watch a cooking demonstration by KCRW’s and Angeli Caffe’s Evan Kleiman (maybe a tomato pie!), and enjoy a tomato-centric menu at the market’s Farmer’s Kitchen cafe. There’ll also be canning demonstrations and tips on how to grow better backyard tomatoes.

Among the farmers contributing to the tomato tasting will be Tutti Frutti Farms, Elser’s Farms, McGrath Family Farms, Finley Farms, Buena Creek Ranch, Givens Family Farm, Valdivia Farms and Peacock Family Farms.

The Hollywood Farmers Market is at the corner of Ivar and Selma avenues between Hollywood and Sunset boulevards.
