Boa’s backroom monthly tasting event. Every second Tuesday of the month, Boa is offering guests in its club room a taste of Moet Hennessey liquor paired with an appetizer and dessert. Macrobiotic dinner at M Cafe. On Aug. 18 meet “macro expert” Jessica Porter, author of ‘The Hip Chick’s Guide to Macrobiotics,’ at M Cafe for a lecture and discussion on macrobiotics. Beacon’s beer and burgers. Through August, Beacon’s putting a variety of $5 Asian-style sliders on the menu. The mini-burgers include: shrimp salad with dill and yuzu mayonnaise; albacore with bacon and wasabi mayonnaise; and chicken katsu with spicy mustard. Chez Melange is giving curry some hops. On Aug. 30, Chez Melange’s six-course prix-fixe dinner combines Indian and Thai cuisine with the featured ingredient beer. Curry and beer night presents dishes made and paired with beer: potato and pea samosa with a glass of Flying Horse Royal Lager; chicken curry made with coconut milk and Fuller’s ESB; curried meatballs with a touch of St. Peter’s Porter; and duck vindaloo washed down with Young’s Double Chocolate Stout.
