Small bites: BLD deals, Magnolia plans to reopen next week, and Stonehill Tavern's menu makeover
New menu in Dana Point. Stonehill Tavern has introduced new menu options. Presenting snack and finger foods: cheese fondue,
fish and chips, lobster fritters, and pulled pork sliders. New
entrées: lobster pot pie, fried chicken with truffle macaroni and
cheese, pork short ribs with mashed sweet potatoes, and steaks of
different cuts. Or if you can’t decide, they are also featuring a
farmer’s market prix-fixe five-course meal for $75 a person. Happy hour features half-off specialty cocktails and their
snacks menu. 1 Monarch Beach Resort; (949)234-3318; michaelmina.net.
Magnolia's on hold. Magnolia Bakery had to temporarily close July 28 because of building department issues raised by the Los Angeles County Health Department. The bakery says it expects to reopen next week and that the temporary closure is not due to violations of any health or sanitary codes. 8389 West 3rd Street; (323) 951-0636; magnoliabakery.com.
