Fish tacos and hoppers at Angeli Caffe; Supper Liberation Front beer dinner at Library Alehouse

Street Gourmet L.A.’s Bill Esparza and Evan Kleiman of KCRW’s “Good Food” are bringing a series of street food pop-ups to Kleiman’s restaurant, Angeli Caffe. “To help spread the news that street food is a good thing and is a vital part of L.A.’s restaurant community and culture,” Esparza says. On Monday, Ricky’s Fish Tacos will be at Angeli from 6 to 10 p.m., serving fish and shrimp tacos for $3 each. Angeli Caffe will be selling beers and desserts. A mid-August reunion of veterans of the Breed Street food fair is planned. Also on the slate is a hoppers (Sri Lankan pancakes) night from erstwhile Reseda café Priyani. 7274 Melrose Ave., Hollywood, (323) 936-9086, www.angelicaffe.com.

Chef Josh Gil (formerly of Joe’s) and his guerrilla-style dining project, the Supper Liberation Front, will prepare a beer-pairing dinner on Aug. 4 at Library Alehouse in Santa Monica. Rob Tod, founder of Allagash Brewing, will be co-hosting with Library Alehouse’s Tom Kelley. Tod and Kelley, along with Celebrator Beer News’ Tomm Carroll, will be doing the talking, providing some behind-the-scenes info on the featured beers.

The menu: Lil’ bites with Allagash White; mackerel, Victoria Ale

foam and gari sheet with Allagash Victoria Ale; red roast pork croquettes, slaw and kung pao glaze with Allagash Curieux; lamb Reuben two ways with Allagash Four; foie gras gelato, stout swirl and kabocha tempura with

Allagash Black.
