Combo Plate: Candy corn lovers, pizza gets real, classier cocktails, loco for loco moco and more

-- Check out this video of food as art. Yes, the Alka-Seltzer stuff is annoying, but artists need patrons, right?

-- As Domino's "gets real" with it's pizza -- remember this video we posted last week? -- there was food world debate on Twitter about whether this was the start of a trend toward "real" food (and away from highly stylized pics.) What do you think? Personally, I think we make room for both. [BrandWeek]

-- Start with a mountain of white rice, throw on hamburger patties, grilled onions, eggs and brown gravy --  lots and lots of brown gravy -- and you've got loco moco, a starchy, meaty, hearty mess that is not for the faint of heart. Consider this your primer, from the newly launched Toque.

-- You're going to hear a lot about the debate over the use of antibiotics among livestock. Here is one side of the debate, published in USA Today.

-- Trendspotting: New premium mixers are promising classier cocktails.

-- Eatocracy is asking whether you could give up meat. Vote whichever way you like, but the comment thread on this one is pretty funny. It has devolved into whether is it mathematically possible to eat meat "less than once" a week, and also includes this one: "vegetarian/vegan – isn't that an old indian word for bad hunter?"
