Are America’s fattest states starved for fine restaurants?

If you’re dining at a restaurant in one of America’s fattest states, in lieu of “bon appetit,” you’re more likely to hear, “Do you want fries with that?”

Trust for America’s Health, an independent nonprofit organization, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation recently published a report on obesity rates that showed Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, West Virginia and Louisiana leading the eating charge. And yet, not a single restaurant from those five states made this year’s AAA/CAA Five Diamond list, which many travelers use as a guide to top-rated dining spots. Our Travel blog has more:
