This week’s issue of Brand X features Mark Frauenfelder, the founder of Boing Boing and editor of Make magazine, whose recently released book ‘Made by Hand’ is a bible for crafters and foodies alike.

In the article, Frauenfelder gives tips on jury-rigging an espresso machine to keep the water at the perfect temperature; making Kombucha; culturing yogurt on the cheap; beekeeping in your backyard; and pickling sauerkraut.
