For the first time ever, the L.A. Times Test Kitchen will craft its own beer.

This is all taking place under the watchful eye of Times Test Kitchen manager Noelle Carter, who, with the help of her Test Kitchen interns, is experimenting with recipes. At one point, she uttered the words -- and I am not making this up -- ‘I wonder if we could make a bacon-infused beer.’ Well, it turns out you can, and the Brooklyn Brewery already beat us to it.

If all goes well, you’ll see a recipe or two for homemade brew grace the pages of the L.A. Times in the weeks ahead. If it doesn’t go well....let’s just forget we ever had this conversation, okay?

Until then, we need to come up with a name for this brew. We asked our friends on Twitter for suggestions and got these:

--From @Dommy_in_LA: ‘Times Ale: All the news fit to drink’

--From @bleumoon: ‘Never LATe Brew’

--From @adampknave: ‘Times To Drink’

--From @IamMademoiselle: ‘Beer Belly Beer’

--From @chicspace: ‘LA LA LAGER’

--From @MrStyle925: ‘Smog City Brewing’

What do you think? Do we have a winner from this bunch? Do you have any suggestions? Let us know. And join us on Twitter @latimesfood and Facebook at facebook.com/latimesfood
