A sweet -- er, suite -- deal for this year's California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard

Festival
Making your own strawberry shortcake can be strenuous. Each year during Oxnard’s two-day California Strawberry Festival, visitors at the “build your own” shortcake tent typically plow through 3,000 loaves of pound cake, 8,000 pounds of sliced berries, 275 flats of whole berries and 1,500 cans of whipped cream. Of course, you can always skip the shortcake and sample strawberry nachos or strawberry beer at some of the 50 food booths during the event, which this year runs May 15-16. Our travel blog has details -- plus a suite deal for out-of-town travelers.
