Eco-friendly lunch sacks, Shrek returns, a beer crown and a chance to go to "American Idol"

Baggies
--Just in time for Earth Day travel: These lunch sacks claim to be an eco-friendly alternative to plastic lunch baggies. Would you use these?

--The Orange County Register reports on two local breweries that won gold medals in the World Beer Cup: About 640 breweries from 44 countries entered the competition, with 3,330 beers battling it out for the top titles in 90 categories, from American-style India pale ale to gluten-free to coffee-flavored.

--Do you like T.G.I. Fridays? How about Coca-Cola? And are you an "American Idol" fan? You wouldn't be interested in attending the "two-night, star-studded American Idol finale" May 25-26, would you? Alright, alright. Click here.

--When this one first landed on my desk, I thought it was from The Onion. Instead, it is about an onion. And Shrek. You know, the movie character. Here, let the press release tell it:

What do ogres and onions have in common? Both will be in produce aisles this spring and summer enticing kids and parents to eat more Vidalias & other veggies! The Vidalia Onion Committee has partnered with DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc....to promote the original sweet onion in conjunction with the release of Shrek Forever After, premiering May 21 nationwide in 3D and IMAX and other local theaters.

Consider yourself informed.
