Monday’s not a bad thing. At Santa Monica restaurant Rustic Canyon, Burger and Beer Mondays have returned. In addition to Rustic Canyon’s Niman Ranch burger (smothered with herb remoulade, onion fondue, sharp cheddar and house-made pickles), two specialty burgers are offered each Monday. For example, chef Evan Funke’s breakfast burger, made with Niman Ranch ground beef with hash browns, confit bacon, sunny-side-up egg and Tillamook cheddar cheese. The Bolognese burger is topped with Bolognese ragu, burrata and wild arugula. Each burger is paired with a specialty beer.

Speaking of beer, Rustic Canyon’s sister restaurant, Huckleberry Café & Bakery, will start offering a small selection of artisanal beers and small production wines this week. One red wine, a white, a rosé, a sparkling and two craft beers will rotate on the menu. All wines are $9 a glass; mimosas, $10; and craft beers, $5 to $7.
