Everyone has dreamed of opening a restaurant at some point, but the risk of doing so is daunting. NBC’s “Next Great American Restaurant” is a chance for wannabe restaurateurs to go head-to-head to see who will get the chance to open up shop in one of three cities across America. Bobby Flay, along with other bigwig restaurateurs, will select a winner and invest their own money to help launch the winning concept.

Los Angeles casting takes place Monday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chipotle, 135 E. Palm Ave., Burbank.

Food Network’s mobile roadshow:

There appears to be no slowing to the mobile food phenomenon, and Food Network is ready to tap into the trend. The creators of “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” are casting for a competitive adventure that will showcase food trucks as they compete for a cash prize while serving up gourmet food around the country. All food truck teams with a competitive spirit are welcome to apply to foodtruckshow@rrstaff.com.
