The Rotary Club is hosting the first City of Angels Wine Fest on Memorial Day, at Music Center Plaza in downtown L.A.

More than 30 Californian wineries will be on hand, paired with bites from Nick + Stef’s Steakhouse, Café Pinot, Kendall’s Brasserie, Zucca Ristorante and ‘Tina Tacos. There will be live entertainment, a silent auction and a “Living Mural” project.

Tickets are $65 in advance and $75 at the door. Go to www.cityofangelswinefest.com for details.

The event, which is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m., will benefit the Volunteers of America Greater Los Angeles' downtown homeless service center, the newly named Rotary House. From the press release: "All net proceeds from this event will support the renovation of the 20,000 square foot facility to increase capacity and services for as many as 1,800 homeless men and women annually, with a special focus on the needs of the increasing influx of homeless men and women veterans."
