Watch Animal’s Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo on ‘Munchies’

Animal chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo star in the Hollywood edition of Vice’s ‘Munchies’ TV series.

‘The food scene has really taken a turn here [in L.A.] in the last five years,’ says Dotolo on the show. ‘Now it’s a place where it’s considered to be a culinary mecca of the U.S. I don’t know if the rest of the U.S. would agree with that, but I think we want to kind of wave that flag a little bit.’

So the Animal guys pile into a van with a dozen others, including actors Aziz Ansari, Michael Rapaport, Ethan Suplee and Zach McGowan, to do some late-night snacking at Gui Rim, Dino’s Chicken & Burgers, Mi Teresita taco truck and more. They also make doughnuts, which, according to Shook, are seasonal. ‘Believe it or not, doughnuts only work when the temperature is right here in L.A.’
