Owner-chef Jason Michaud informs us that Local will re-launch dinner service on Tuesday evening with Michaud at the stove.

Michaud promises to feature some brand-new farm-fresh items from Sage Mountain Farm alongside the usual Echo Park farmers market produce for which he generally shops. He’ll also be using ingredients from organic distributor Heath & LeJeune. Service should run six nights a week and Michaud says he’ll be doing plenty of experimenting in the kitchen.

‘Looking to work out a nice rabbit ragu, maybe confit a few things, get my pastry hat on and even work up some new vegan items,’ he writes.

I can’t wait to try the dinner service. I had brunch at Local a few weekends ago and fell crazy in love with a tofu scramble that I swear pretty much tasted like actual eggs.

I was so busy stuffing my face and happily clapping my hands about my fresh-squeezed vegetable juice that I almost failed to notice Michael Cera walk in. I must’ve looked really cute because he was totally afraid to even look at me, which is why he just walked right past me like he didn’t notice me. Boys!

In further Local news, Michaud is hot on the heels of a beer-and-wine license. But no promises yet as to when that’ll make its way through the city’s red tape.

Local, 2943 W. Sunset Blvd., L.A. (323) 662-4740.
