Eagle Rock Brewery to partner with Intelligentsia

Father and son team Steven and Jeremy Raub have vowed to start what they call "a beer revolution" in Los Angeles, inspiring home brewers to get into the business.  They believe that by bringing passionate beer-drinkers into the fold, one day the suds-loving community in Los Angeles will be as strong as cities like Portland and Seattle.

This sense of local pride steeps into their philosophy on choosing ingredients. They recently have tapped a local farmer to grow their first batch of local hops for the next harvest; Jeremy's mother Donna has graciously donated some of her rose petals for their Manifesto Belgian-style white beer; and they're working on a partnership tp brew with their neighbors over at Intelligentsia.

"We are looking to do some really exciting things with coffee. Instead of going for a traditional dark beer, we want to experiment doing a lighter coffee beer," he says. Intelligentsia's roasting facilities are just down the street from the Eagle Rock Brewery, and they've been going to some of the cuppings to start scouting the varietals.
