Call the battle what you will. Show vs. show, network pitted against network, East Coast counters West Coast, but tonight’s throwdown at the Grove between Jeffrey Saad and Marcel Vigneron is bound to please food TV fanatics. If not for the entertainment factor, then surely for the lack of commercials and, thank heavens, absence of GladWare.

Things are bound to get spicy, as both of the contestants were runners-up on their respective reality TV shows. And we all know losing is no fun--especially twice in a row. No pressure, guys.

Marcel Vigneron, Top Chef’s season 2 runner-up, has likely sharpened his skills since his elimination by working at the Bazaar with this seasons’ Top Chef stud, Michael Voltaggio (Voltaggio has since left and made way for Joshua Whigham). Jeffrey Saad, the Greek god from Season 5 of the Next Food Network star, has been blogging up a storm, creating some snazzy new recipes for his readers and working on a few webisodes for the Food Network.

So, who do you think will take home the gold: mister mutton chops or the spice smuggler?

Battle of the Celebrity Chefs will take place today at the Grove, 189 The Grove Drive, Los Angeles, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
