Top Chef Masters get grilled at the Getty Villa

Tomorrow night, the three remaining Top Chef Masters will head to the Getty Villa, where they’ll compete in their final elimination challenge. Bravo’s teaser divulges that Rick Bayless, Michael Chiarello and Hubert Keller will have to create a sort of edible chefography, crafting dishes that represent their first food memory, the experience that sparked their interest in becoming a chef, the opening of their first restaurant and their future in the culinary world.

And what better place to marinate on one’s personal history than the Villa, which houses a profound collection of Greek, Roman and Etruscan art? Chiarello’s Italian-style cuisine will certainly fit right in with the scenery.

I wonder if the contestants will get to use ingredients from the Roman fruit trees and herb gardens planted on the estate....
