Located just north of downtown, the former site of the "Not a Cornfield" art installation (known officially as Los Angeles State Historic Park) will be the location for this weekend's Grilled Cheese Invitational. There is nothing more comforting in my book than a simple, yet perfect grilled cheese. I usually choose not to doll mine up too much and stick with the classic combos. That said, I think if I had to submit tomorrow, I would throw a curve ball with this incredible Italian version using mozzarella, pesto and ciabatta. Enjoy!

will there actually be sampling or will the grilled cheeses only be available to the judges?
