A cornfield blossoms into a field of grilled cheese
If you build it, they will come. Located just north of downtown, the former site of the "Not a Cornfield" art installation (known officially as Los Angeles State Historic Park) will be the location for this weekend's Grilled Cheese Invitational. Toasted bread, melted cheese and hundreds of grills going at once? That's our field of dreams.

There is nothing more comforting in my book than a simple, yet perfect grilled cheese. I usually choose not to doll mine up too much and stick with the classic combos. That said, I think if I had to submit tomorrow, I would throw a curve ball with this incredible Italian version using mozzarella, pesto and ciabatta. Enjoy!
