Bottega Louie is open downtown

April 6, 2009 | 11:35 am

Bottega2Aswarm with waitstaff and managers circling the floor of the 10,000-square-foot space in the Brockman Building at 7th and Grand streets downtown, Bottega Louie opened this morning at 6:30 a.m.

The deli case hadn't been filled yet, but breakfast and a full array of pastries (including orange or vanilla caneles and Earl Grey madeleines) were on offer, and the first customers dropped by for coffee and croissants or took their seats at the marble-topped cafe tables in the bar area. Three hostesses manned the host's stand at the 185-seat restaurant. If anything, the restaurant/gourmet market/patisserie is well-staffed.

700 S. Grand St., Los Angeles, (866) 418-9162.
