Latin sushi at Provecho in downtown Los Angeles

It hasn't celebrated its official grand opening yet, but Provecho, a new modern Mexican restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, is quietly serving chef Gabriel Morales' take on Latin sushi to Angelenos.

Beginning in early February, the restaurant's ceviche/raw bar will be fully operational and guests will be able to sit in a row and watch the chefs whip up creative ceviche combinations and small plates of Latin-flavored sashimi.

Next door to Provecho (and sharing a kitchen and a chef) is Remedy Lounge, Morales' other new venture. To read the Scene Setter on Provecho in today's Calendar section, click here.
