We have some good news for fans of Memphis-style barbecue (like this gentleman seen above) in WeHo. Venice’s well-liked ribs outpost Baby Blues BBQ will take over the former Cha Cha Cha space on Santa Monica Boulevard this spring. ‘We hope to open sometime in March,’ manager Robb Aguirre said via phone Monday (the owners were unavailable).

Aguirre said the forthcoming restaurant is larger than the Venice location and has a liquor license. Accordingly, the restaurant will be ‘expanding the menu’ at the new Baby Blues to include a few choice appetizers such as hush puppies, sweet potato fries and maybe even some fried green tomatoes thrown in for good measure. But Aguirre adds that the new menu is still being fine tuned.

The Dish has also confirmed that Baby Blues has tapped Dan Dunn (a.k.a. ‘The Imbiber’) to do the wine list for the new spot. You can also expect the place to do decent takeaway/catering business as summer approaches.

The West Hollywood Baby Blues BBQ will be at 7953 Santa Monica Blvd.
