‘Top Chef’: The feel-good holiday episode

Call me cynical, but was it not a producer who decided that some crew member or complicit chef-testant should leave open one of the refrigerator doors so that all the food prepared in advance of an Amfar fund-raiser hosted by Natasha Richardson would go bad? There would be tears, anguish, no finger-pointing, and the pitching-in of all those whose food hadn’t spoiled. The humanity, the deviled eggs, the Swanson chicken broth commercials -- happy holidays!
