Bacon: Rumaki hits the spot
The #8 spot on our list of 1,001 things to do with bacon goes to Dorothy, who emails:
Can you really beat rumaki -- using chicken livers or water chestnuts? A soy sauce, brown sugar glaze makes these the perfect appetizer. Then take a Lipitor!
Sounds great. There's also the more recent take on rumaki using dates (and they're even better with a little wedge of blue cheese nestled in the date before it's wrapped). Thanks, Dorothy!

Thanks for this great topic and all the wonderful recipes that are coming along with it.
My boyfriend calls these Homer Simpsons and we just served them at a brunch and they were the first thing gone! Bacon wrapped bacon as it was dubbed that day.
little smokies sausages
wrapped with 1/2 strip bacon
in 9x12 pyrex
drizzle with syrup
& sprinkle with brown brown sugar
drain fat and rotate sausages about half way through
drizzle with more syrup if desired
450 for 35-45 minutes, til bacon is cooked

Hi Noell,
Have you found any good rumaki recipes? Would love to make some for the holidays :)

Well, everything IS better with bacon. I'm partial to Suzanne Goin's bacon wrapped dates for their simplicity and massive flavor.
