Cyrus, the Michelin two-star restaurant in Sonoma’s tiny, boutique-hotel-filled Healdsburg, is taking its carts on the road. Cyrus Private (‘it’s not catering,’ according to the news release) promises ‘a new luxury service to transport the entire Cyrus experience to a party,’ including Cyrus servers, tableware, a specially designed menu by chef Douglas Keane (with Keane cooking for you) and, if requested, the signature caviar, Champagne and cheese carts.

At the elegant restaurant in the Les Mars Hotel, there’s even a mignardises cart, stacked with truffles, macarons, pâte de fruits, etc. (Servers navigate the narrow spaces between tables with aplomb, but it’s hard to imagine that there aren’t traffic jams — the dining room is fairly small.) The carts will travel as far as Los Angeles and beyond (Morocco?).

These aren’t the only carts in town for hire: Comme Ça’s events service can provide a frites cart. And then, in an entirely different vein, there’s Hot Dogs by Schlongs: Hunky (shirtless) servers offer hot dogs from a sparkling mobile cart. From the website: ‘Who wouldn’t want charming hunks serving delicious hot dogs in their own backyard?’
