Hello, Melrose Bar & Grill
Melrose Bar & Grill opened at the old Doug Arango's space in West Hollywood on Monday. It's a good place to sip a $10 Hendricks and vermouth (a good deal, in the era of the $15 martini) and ponder this, er, interesting-looking bar snack. (OK, it's pretzel, sausage and mustard.)
Melrose Bar & Grill, 8826 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood; (310) 278-3684.

Atrocious. 1 star is a stretch. The worse service I've experienced anywhere, EVER! The waitress rolled her eyes when i asked 1 question, then disappeared for 20 minutes before taking my order. It took 40 minutes to get my salad and only after asking nicely for it! The food was eh, and the waitress threw attitude the whole time. I had to return my chicken cause it was more a hockey puck then anything else. They didn't even ask if i wanted something else. At the end, i went up to Julie, the owner to nicely tell her that my experience wasn't good, and she stood there talking to her friends for 15 minutes while i stood there. When she finally acknowledged my existence, she rudely asked if i was waiting for her, then i replied that i need a minute of her time, she abruptly said, 'you'll have to wait', then went back to chatting. I can't imagine going there on a date or with friends, it was outrageous how rudely they treated us. Have i mention the waitress kept pointing at my friends when asking them what they wanted to eat? Yeah. Save yourself and go anywhere else!
