The new Moss store, the Los Angeles outpost of the 12-year-old high-design emporium in New York that sells Michel Bras knives and German flatware designed by professor Peter Raacke, has opened on Melrose. Part of the 3,500-square-foot space (a few doors down from Lucques) is currently devoted to an installation of Glitterbox chandeliers designed by Georg Baldele -- 8-foot vertical box chandeliers made with Swarovski clear or light-peridot crystals. A selection ranges in price from $47,000 to $49,500. This Zani & Zani cheese grater (available online) seems a bargain in comparison: $125. No word on whether founder Murray Moss will open an L.A. cafe-wine bar a la his Centovini in New York.
