Indianapolis art galleries reach out to Super Bowl fans

Are you ready for some art? As Indianapolis prepares to host the Giants and the Patriots in Sunday’s Super Bowl, the Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Assn. is presenting Turf, a mix of experiential art and design, about 1,700 yards from Lucas Oil Stadium.

On display through Super Bowl Sunday, the exhibition showcases 20 juried artists from various galleries in a 20-square-block area of downtown Indianapolis. A gallery tour on Friday is aimed to entice both visiting sports and art fans.

“Indianapolis has a wide variety of high-caliber artists and galleries, and this is our chance to let the world know it,” IDADA treasurer and gallery owner Mark Ruschman said in a release. “To my knowledge, this has never been attempted by a Super Bowl host city before.”
