The young violinist Augustin Hadelich has been attracting attention with each CD and live appearance (he made his Hollywood Bowl debut in August). But this CD could be his entrée into the big time.

Performances of sonatas by Poulenc (brittle and titillating), Debussy (eloquent and considered) and Prokofiev (penetrating and soulful), along with a suite from Stravinsky’s “Pulcinella” (fresh and captivating) have a magic that doesn’t come along often.

[For the record: An earlier version of this said Hadelich is American. He is German, although was born in Italy.]
