Critic's Notebook: Some advice for South Coast Rep's incoming leader, Marc Masterson

Marc masterson South Coast Repertory’s reputation was built on commissioning and producing new American plays. Marc Masterson, who has been chosen to succeed the theater’s founders, David Emmes and Martin Benson, has a wealth of experience in this area, having led the Actors Theatre of Louisville for 11 years. 

But even veterans can use a spot of advice.
