More images of Belzberg’s L.A. Holocaust Museum

The new home of the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, designed by architect Hagy Belzberg and his Santa Monica firm, Belzberg Architects, opened earlier this month on a site within Pan Pacific Park, across the street from the Grove shopping center. As I point out in a review of the building in Thursday’s paper, the design is in certain ways conflicted, torn between a desire to conspicuously bear witness and an interest in lowering its architectural profile in the park by sinking much of its gallery space underground.

There’s no doubt, though, that the museum is sleekly photogenic. To go with the photographs of the building by Benny Chan published alongside my review and pictures of the exhibition by Times photographer Anne Cusack, here is another batch of images, this one by Iwan Baan, showing the museum from a range of perspectives.
