It’s apparently never too early to plan for Halloween.

Organizers at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood said that the upcoming engagement of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ -- which is being billed as the ‘final engagement’ of the current national tour -- is slated to end on Oct. 31. The tour will have played 7,284 performances at the time of its closing, running close to 18 years on the road.

On Broadway, ‘Phantom’ is currently in its 23rd year at the Majestic Theatre, where it has played for more than 9,400 performances. There are now seven productions of the hit musical playing around the world: London, New York, Budapest, Nagoya (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), the U.S. national tour and an abridged production in Las Vegas at The Venetian.

The cast for ‘Phantom’ at the Pantages will include Tim Martin Gleason in the title role, Trista Moldovan as Christine, Sean MacLaughlin as Raoul and Kim Stengel as Carlotta. For some performances, Kelly Jeanne Grant will play the role of Christine.

Rounding out the cast are D.C. Anderson, Michael McCoy, Nancy Hess, Luke Grooms and Paloma Garcia-Lee.

The engagement represents a symbolic homecoming for ‘Phantom’ because the musical’s first national tour kicked off in L.A. in 1989. That tour ran for close to 10 years, with 3,902 performances.

‘Phantom’ is scheduled to open Sept. 23 at the Pantages.
