Sjb The Reprise Theatre Company's first production of the 2010-11 season is "They're Playing Our Song," the 1978 musical that had its world premiere in Los Angeles at the Ahmanson Theatre before moving to Broadway.

For the revival, Reprise said Wednesday that Stephanie J. Block will play the lead female role opposite the previously announced Jason Alexander, who is the artistic director of Reprise. Block recently starred in "9 to 5: the Musical" both at the Ahmanson and on Broadway.

Marvin Hamlisch, who wrote the score for the musical, is penning a new song with Carole Bayer Sager that will premiere at the Reprise production.

"They're Playing Our Song," directed by Lonny Price, will officially open Sept. 29 and run through Oct. 10 at the Freud Playhouse at UCLA.

Featuring a book by Neil Simon, "They're Playing Our Song" tells the story of a songwriting couple who experience various emotional hurdles on the road to true love. The Broadway production, which starred Lucie Arnaz and Robert Klein, ran for more than 1,000 performances and received four Tony nominations, including one for best musical.
