Sorry, ‘Glee’ fans. Matthew Morrison won’t be starring in the Los Angeles engagement of ‘South Pacific’ at the Ahmanson Theatre despite an ad in Sunday’s Times that might have suggested otherwise The ad, which appeared in the Arts & Books section, featured a picture of actors Matthew Morrison and Li Jun Li, both of whom starred in the original Broadway revival production at Lincoln Center. The ad contained a small-type disclaimer stating that they were members of the 2008 Broadway cast.

South Pacific,’ which features a score by Rodgers and Hammerstein, will run at the Ahmanson from May 27 to July 17. The engagement is part of a national tour of the show, which is already underway. The tour will play Oct. 12-24 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

The touring production features Anderson Davis and Sumie Maeda in the roles originated by Morrison and Li.

Also starring in the touring cast are Rod Gilfry and Carmen Cusack, who play the roles that were originated by Paulo Szot and Kelli O’Hara on Broadway.

‘South Pacific’ won the Tony Award for musical revival in 2008. Bartlett Sher, who won the Tony for his directing, has also staged the touring production.
