Daniel Radcliffe will make his Broadway musical debut as J. Pierrepont Finch in a revival of ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,’ which will open on Broadway next spring, its producers said.

The 20-year-old Radcliffe became an international star as the boy wizard in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies. He caused a stir of a different sort when he showed off a darker side to his acting, not to mention a buff body, in his 2007 West End and 2008 Broadway debuts as Alan Strang, the troubled young man who blinds horses in Peter Shaffer’s ‘Equus.’

Now Radcliffe will play the over-eager executive-in-waiting in a production of ‘How to Succeed’ that will be directed and choreographed by Tony and Emmy winner Rob Ashford.

Ashford, who is the director and choreographer of the revival of ‘Promises, Promises’ now in previews on Broadway, won the 2002 Tony for choreography for ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ and has received Tony and Olivier nominations for his work on both musicals and straight plays.

‘How to Succeed,’ a tale of office politics run amok, has a score by Frank Loesser and a book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert. It opened on Broadway in 1961, ran for 1,417 performances and won seven Tonys and the Pulitzer Prize.
