Lea Michele -- but no Matthew Morrison or Jane Lynch -- for 'Glee' concert tour [Updated]
The much-anticipated concert tour of Fox's "Glee" will play at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on May 20 and 21, organizers said Monday. Most of the cast members from the hit television show have signed on to appear in the stage production, including Broadway star Lea Michele, who plays the overly eager high school student Rachel Berry.
However, two of the series' main actors -- Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch -- will be conspicuously absent from the stage. Morrison, who plays Will Schuester, the high school Spanish teacher who heads the glee club, has not signed on for the concert production. Nor has Lynch, who plays his arch nemesis, Sue Sylvester.
Other cast members who are scheduled to appear on stage include Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Cory Monteith, Heather Morris, Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, Mark Salling, Harry Shum, Jr., Dijon Talton and Jenna Ushkowitz.
"'Glee' Live! In Concert!" will kick off its four-city tour May 18 in Phoenix, at the Dodge Theatre. It then moves to the Gibson at Universal City for two performances (May 20 and 21) followed by two nights at the Rosemont Theatre near Chicago on May 25 and 26. The tour ends at New York's Radio City Music Hall for two performances on May 28 and 29. (Corrected 6:23 a.m.: An earlier version of this story said the Dodge Theatre is in Tucson.)
Tickets for the L.A. engagement are set to go on sale March 13. News of the tour originally surfaced in late 2009, but dates and venues were only announced on Monday.
Ryan Murphy, who created the TV series, also organized the stage production, which will feature musical numbers from the show including "Sweet Caroline," "Don’t Stop Believin'" and "Somebody to Love."
In a statement, Murphy said that fans' response "to our little show has been so immediate and so gratifying, we wanted to get out and thank them live and in person."
The stage production may also serve as a fancy promotional vehicle for the newest episodes of "Glee," which begin airing on Fox on April 13.

Lea is all that is needed, she can more than handel a concert by herself.

Really did any one thing Matt and Jane would do this tour?
Come on it was for the kids all along.
If Matt does anything it willbe NY or La if he happens to be around. The kids are the ones who do the bulk of thepromoting of this show.

All you need are the students anyway. They're the ones that do all of the performing.
Excited about this tour. I listened to the Glee soundtrack driving to work this morn!
