Pee-wee Herman moves to Club Nokia, pushes back show dates
In August, Pee-wee Herman, a.k.a. Paul Reubens, announced that he would return to the spotlight in a re-conceived version of his '80s stage production "The Pee-wee Herman Show" at the Music Box @ Fonda.
Now the eternal man-child has announced that the show has moved to Club Nokia in downtown L.A. In addition, the show is now set to start its run Jan. 12, 2010, pushed back from the original opening day of Nov. 19.
Ticket-holders can exchange their seats for "comparable" seats beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday through 10 p.m. Oct. 13 via Ticketmaster at (800) 653-8000. (They should have their original confirmation number when calling.)
In a statement, Reubens said: "To the fans who already bought tickets, I apologize for the inconvenience of the venue and date changes and am arranging for you to come backstage and say hello!"
Promoters of "The Pee-wee Herman Show" said that the venue change "will allow more fans to attend and purchase tickets at various price points, including VIP tickets, as well as lower-priced general admission tickets."
The public sale of Club Nokia tickets is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Oct. 15 via Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com.
"The Pee-wee Herman Show" will run at Club Nokia from Jan. 12 to Feb. 7.
Alex Timbers has joined as the show's director. With his roots in experimental theater, Timbers is the artistic director of the New York-based company Les Freres Corbusier. He directed "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson" at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in 2008.

I feel horrible hearing about all of your bad experience but don't hold peewee responsible for this. He's trying to make a come back and I sincerely believe his intentions for the new venue were good. I actually got better seats because of all of this. I think club nokia is better than being in uncomfortable tables. It took me 2 hours to get my new tickets but it was worth the wait. I ended up getting 2 row almost center seats so I'm happy.

Where's the outrage over a convicted child porn possessor who is trying to make a big bucks comeback? Hasn't he done enough harm? How stupid are you people?

Are you kidding? Does he know he is screwing a lot of people? Wow, this is a pretty bad thing to do to people. Why not jsut take it on tour? bad planning? Greed? Say it ain't so Pee Wee.

You're all just figuring out that Paul Reubens is pathalogically greedy? Don't you know about all the people who have sued him including the woman he created the show with? This is just more of the same for Pee-wee.

Wait a minute. Something’s not right here. You mean to say that Paul Reubens is THE Pee Wee Herman? I thought he was just some painter! (Hold on while I check my Wicki.) Ohhhh. Now I get it. Peter Paul Rubens is that painter dude and it’s Paul Reubens a.k.a. “Pee Wee Herman” who is the famous kids’ show performer trying to make a comeback and ticking off all his fans by suddenly changing venues. BIG difference! I'm glad I got that straight. It’s very difficult to keep up with all these cartoon characters and still keep down my twinkies. Now I have to go deal with Marge. You know I can’t pass up a comment on that broad.

SD, the only "child" pornography peewee ever possesed were antique photographs of people who are already dead. So get your facts straight. I hate that people are lead to believe peewee is some kind of pervert when in reality his actions were blown out of proportion. Stupid people are ones who make accusations without knowing the truth.

I just saw this thread. Paul Rubens pleaded GUILTY to possession of child porn. It was not the old timey magazines that he wants people to think. It was fresh pix of real children. Call the City Attorney's office to verify.

Here's a funny video of Hitler feeling the same pain as you all about the show being moved from the Fonda to Club Nokia.
