L.A. attorney loses multimillion-dollar art collection in house fire

A multimillion-dollar collection that included a Stradivarius violin, a Faberge egg and art originally commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte was lost when fire broke out Wednesday at the West Hollywood home of litigator Brian Witzer, according to a KTLA News report.

Witzer, who could not be reached immediately, told the television station that he estimates his losses at $14 million at the home in the 2000 block of Sunset Plaza Drive.

He said his collection of Ferraris was spared from the blaze, in which10 fire companies responded, along with water-dropping helicopters sent to ensure that the fire wouldn’t spread to nearby brush.
