Long Beach Playhouse names acting director

Long Beach Playhouse has named Andrew Vonderschmitt acting artistic director/technical director of the theater, Playhouse executive director Joan Van Hooten said. Vonderschmitt has held the title of technical director for two years.

‘The Playhouse is interested in reaching out to new audiences,’ Van Hooten said in a statement. ‘Andrew’s skills are an important part of this effort.’

Vonderschmitt previously served as techical director for Garden Grove Playhouse (2004-06) and Deep Blue Sea Repertory of Orange County (2002-04). He is also an actor, director, writer and designer.
